Alright so your new? Right? Or maybe your just reading this in your leisure time. Well for the new people we are going to tell you about how this whole thing works.
First off, World War Z (zworldwar.proboards.com) is a Role-Playing site, where people create their own world and such via words and creativity. If you look through what is posted you can get a very good idea of what Role-Playing or a very bad idea of what it is based on what people write. Some people are better then others. Why? There could be a number of reason. Essentially, Role-Playing is writing. Some people could be more imaginative in their writing. Some people could be more grammatically correct. Again, there are a multitude of reasons why they could be better then others. Do not be discouraged if you do not seem as eloquent as others. It will come in time.
Secondly, read up on the sites rules. We do have them, just like everyone else. Please read them and follow them as best as you can. There are consequences for not following those rules.
Also, if you like what you see or are interested in becoming an active member of the site, create a character. We have a little Do's and Don'ts for creating a character section that will give you some information about how the character should be created. Plus, there are some little guidelines in creating a character in the template in the character creating board.
Colonies are also a big part of this site. Since there really aren't major cities anymore they way places are run are based on the people who run them. For instance, one colony may be a sturdy dictatorship where one person has the final say and can choose who takes his place in government when he leaves or passes while one colony is run solely by the people in unanimity. It's really up to how people decide to run it. Or you could create your own and decide how you want to run it. But there are guidelines, like anything else. Check out Creating a Colony 101 for a little more information.
Finally, have fun! There are a lot of fun things about role-playing, including playing some one completley different from you or giving your self a completely new identity. It's all fun and games at no cost! Please, feel free to PM a staff member if you have any problems.
